How Are We Doing?

In January 2012, the Minister of Health and Long-Term Care released Ontario’s Action Plan for Health Care. The Action Plan lays out an ambitious blueprint for health system transformation, with primary care at the centre of this transformational change. Following from there, the Ministry of Health adopted a systematic approach to quality, with the passing of the Excellent Care for All Act (ECFAA). A Quality Improvement Plan (QIP) is the centrepiece of that legislation.

As part of the QIP, we conduct annual patient experience surveys. Primary health care survey data can provide important insight into characteristics of care that are not routinely captured through other data sources.
