Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) Position Available
Family Health Teams (FHTs) use a patient-centred approach to primary health care that brings together doctors, nurses, nurse practitioners, registered dietitians, pharmacists, mental health clinicians and other health care professionals and support staff to coordinate the highest possible quality of care for patients – when they need it, as close to home as possible. FHTs are a key component of Ontario’s health care plan to reduce wait times, improve access to primary care, and keep Ontarians healthy.
The Registered Practical Nurse is an integral part of a multidisciplinary team who will be employed directly by the Peterborough Family Health Team and will work cooperatively with all members of the health care team in the promotion of patient health and prevention of disease. He/she should be an independent, organized individual with strong oral and written communication and interpersonal skills. The Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) will practice within his/her full scope of practice as outlined in the Standards of Practice by the College of Nurses of Ontario as well as provide admin support. This is a part time (27.75 hours per week) permanent position.
The position requires excellent health assessment and clinical skills and the ability to perform the full range of duties and responsibilities. Knowledge and experience in well baby care, primary care of families, diabetes, immunizations and electronic medical record would be assets.
You must hold a current certification of registration from the College of Nurses of Ontario as an RPN and maintain membership in the RPNAO.
