Peterborough’s Five Networked Family Health Teams were selected to represent the province of Ontario in a recent Health Council of Canada report on Primary Health Care Teams in Canada.  The report can be read in full at

 and focuses on innovations in the delivery of primary care. 

Peterborough was selected based on the many successes that have been delivered in the community by Primary Health Care Services of Peterborough since the inception of Family Health Teams in 2006, including the placement of unattached patients, a decrease in emergency room visits, new family physicians joining the community and the development of innovative programming.
