Part-time – Approximately 20 hours per week

Monday 8:45am-4:30pm Wednesday 1:00pm-4:30pm and Thursday 8:45am-4:30pm

 We are currently recruiting for a Registered Practical Nurse to work in close collaboration with a family physician and other interdisciplinary health professionals. The RPN is a valuable member of the team, and you will be responsible for delivering quality nursing care to patients with a focus on assessment, health education, disease prevention, as well as early identification and support for chronic health conditions. 

Registered Practical Nurse (RPN)


  • Certificate of Competence and current Membership with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO)
  • Current Professional Liability Insurance (RPNAO)
  • Current Vulnerable Sector Police Check
  • Ideally 2+ years previous clinical experience, preferably in family medicine
  • Previous experience with an electronic medical record (EMR) program is required
  • Strong interpersonal skills, as demonstrated through interactions with colleagues and patients
  • Flexible to adapt to practice needs
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and multitasking skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Ability to work to full clinical scope


  • Work alongside two physicians, a nurse practitioner (NP), a medical secretary, and other medical/administrative staff.
  • Assist with taking patients to exam rooms and preparing rooms between patients
  • Triage patients in clinic; complete and document brief histories and perform physical examinations (e.g., vital signs), as required
  • Maintain in confidence, all private and personal information, both written and verbal
  • Discuss test results and educate patients, as appropriate
  • Administer and record immunizations and various injections (e.g., allergy, B12)
  • Perform other procedures as requested, which may include throat swabs, suture removal, wound dressing, ear syringing, etc.
  • Accurately complete requisitions and referrals, and perform other tasks in ‘Accuro’ EMR, as requested
  • Maintain inventory of medical supplies, as needed, in conjunction with other team members
  • Perform well under pressure and use good judgment in assessing difficult situations
  • Participate in routine process reviews to optimize patient care
  • Assist physicians with developing and implementing patient education tools
