FHO Physician in established FHO/FHT – PART-TIME PRACTICE

August 30th, 2021

An exciting opportunity to join a well established, highly integrated Family Health Organization (FHO) available July 1, 2021. The Peterborough Community FHO is part of a larger Family Health Team (FHT), encompassing 5 Family Health Organizations in Peterborough.

This practice operates from a clinic shared with 9 other family physicians, which includes a dedicated lab, pharmacy and radiology. The practice has a current roster of 700 patients of all ages and stages and would be ideal for a new physician who would prefer to move into a well established practice and turn-key, shared clinical space. The practice operates in a collaborative environment with 16 other family physicians who provide extended hours coverage for the entire team 7 days per week.

The practice and entire FHO is fully electronic and has a well established shared Electronic Medical Record in Practice Solutions (Telus Health).  You will have complete administrative support as well as EMR/IT support.  You will also have the choice of working with a nurse practitioner, Mental Health Clinicians, and Pharmacist support as well as access to centralized group programming offered by the Peterborough Family Health Team.  Start-up financial assistance is generously provided by the City of Peterborough as well as six-months free rent.

About the Peterborough Family Health Team

With more than 115,000 patients in its care, the Peterborough Family Health Team  (FHT) is well positioned to continue to make a significant difference in the health of its community. The organization was a leader in the formation of the family health team model – the answer to a crisis in primary care ten years ago, when one in five residents in the City and County of Peterborough didn’t have access to a family doctor. Since then, the FHT has ensured that an additional 20,000 Peterborough patients now have family doctors and access to team-based primary care. And today, as the only city and region of its size in the province in which virtually all family doctors are part of the FHT, the organization is poised to be a primary care leader in the next stage of health system transformation.
